Finding facts and truth on the internet is exasperating. Even when you find something, it is distorted or diluted or worse. I keep seeing advertisements for phone farm hardware, racks of chassis supporting endless cards connected to screens filled with hundreds of simultaneous smartphone emulations, and it feels dystopian. Perhaps that seems extreme, but when bad actors, attention harvesting and the monetisation of bias through algorithms dominate the web, truth and honour and nuance and creativity and beauty and balance and cooperation and equality and curiosity and empathy, and all of the aspirational virtues of our species, struggle to survive.
